Experience and Education
I completed my undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis, and I earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Miami University. I completed my clinical internship and postdoctoral training at Oregon Health and Science University. I worked in a children's hospital and in a group private practice specializing in OCD and anxiety treatment before establishing my own private practice. I'm experienced working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including individuals from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, neurodivergent individuals, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
Clinical Approach
My approach to therapy incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). My natural clinical style is direct and action oriented, with an emphasis on behavior change. As we get to know each other, we will clarify what is most important to you in your life, and we will come up with ideas to realign your life with your values. I will help keep you accountable to trying new things and following through with your plans. Sessions with me also tend to involve visuals and analogies to make abstract ideas more concrete, evidence-based information and interventions, a friendly and light-hearted attitude, and lots of encouragement!
